The amount of paperwork associated with doing genealogy is astounding. I am trying to organize myself in a more efficient way…lol…it’s a little daunting. Prior to coming over to Belfast, in October 2013, I took some time and scanned 1000’s of pictures, clippings, certificates etc. as I knew I could not carry it all with me. Now I just have to organize them all. I have recently taken a real liking to OneNote. I find it great for keeping track of all my family lines etc. The only thing is I still have to input everything into the files. My aim is to have EVERY one of my relatives have their own unique tab within a folder of the Family name they fall under. With 1000’s of relatives this is going to take a very long time. I am torn at times as I want to move forward….but have to go backward to input everything correctly. I only have a trial version on my computer so will have to buy the full version soon. I also still have a few 100 sheets of information that need to be scanned and they too need to be inputted accordingly. Problem is every time I pick up a piece of paper it only makes me think of more questions that need answered. I am going to continue to input all the information, while at the same time continue to do research. The articles going forward will be ‘password’ protected – if you would like the password please just send me an email – firstname.lastname@example.org. If you can think of anything that you would like to know about a particular ancestor simply ask and I will see what I have on file. If you have anything you would like to add to a person please send the info or picture etc. to me. If you have any ideas on where to look next or ideas on things to look for – please let me know, could use the help :-) – Maxine xo
I love helping.
